Philippine History: Towards a Resilient Country
The Philippines has a great history merging Asian, European, and American
influences. Prior to Spanish and American colonization this have been significant on the Philippine
culture. The Filipinos had a rich culture and were trading with the Chinese and
the Japanese and After 350 years, the Filipinos succeeded in conquering their
independence.
The Philippines became colony of the United States. Following the
Philippine-American War, the United States brought widespread education to the
islands. Filipinos fought alongside Americans during World War II, particularly
at the famous battle of Bataan and Corregidor. They
then waged a war against Japanese regaining the independence of the
Philippines.
The history has great impact affecting our country. In my own opinion, maybe
the Philippines could have the same provision to other countries growing their
economy if we are not colonized and if there is a proper use of superiority. We
can achieve a better state if we will suppress crime, stop corruption, abide by
the law and affix our justice system. Many governments have passed but they
cannot properly use the superiority to fix problems.
Philippines is a great country with good citizens. The Philippines may
have thorned history but we will unite and contribute to it, we can overcome
difficulties and we can lead the Philippines towards
a resilient country.
